Erev holds as little as it can, and never sells any of it.
Text messages are handed to our messaging provider to deliver. Sign-in codes go to our email provider. Notifications to your phone go through Expo's notification service and Apple. Nothing else leaves our systems, and we do not sell or rent any of it, ever.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
If you let the app use your location, it is used once, to work out which city you light in. Erev stores that latitude and longitude with your household so candle lighting can be calculated. It is not tracked, and it is not shared.
A mobile number is stored so we can text that person their jobs, and is used for nothing else. Erev texts a number only after its owner has texted JOIN and replied YES, or, for the account owner, ticked the box at sign-up. When someone replies STOP they stop receiving messages immediately, and we keep a record of that so it is never undone by accident.
Everything stays until you delete it. Ask us to delete your household and it goes, along with your family's numbers and the message history.
Erev is for the adult running a household. Family members receiving texts may be children; their parent invites them, they join from their own phone, and their number is used only to text them their jobs.
